How this started

October 21, 2026 · 2 min read

This whole AI journey started last spring when I was planning to retire and knew that I wanted to play around with AI. And at that time what was really hot was a new AI harness called OpenClaw.

I took OpenClaw for a test drive using a cloud server and I played around with it a few days. At that time people were purchasing the Apple Mini to run OpenClaw. However, by the time I looked into it they were really hard to find. Instead, I asked AI for an alternative and ended up finding my Asus GX10 system currently using a Nvidia version of Qwen 3.6 (and Sonnet 5.5 when needed).

I bought the computer in the spring of 2026 but did not have the time to really play with it until I retired and settled into my home office.

Starting in earnest in September, I have been on a steep and crazy learning curve. And I hope that it gets crazier and crazier. One of our projects has been building this website. It’s for my own use because I wanted to manage all of this data that was coming at me. I decided a website was a great way for me to access AI generated reviews of the data. My wish is that people that visit get some use and utility out of it. And more than anything, I hope that they can better understand what we’re dealing with in terms of AI and human beings working together.

I have other projects underway (e.g., using a small model cloud Hermes agent to orchestrate a project using my local Hermes agent). Thanks for stopping by, I’ll leave the LED on for ya.
